Bathroom Trends for 2023

Spending the last few years at home may be the reason that people are looking for ways to improve their surroundings.  Upgrades to your bathroom can be an easy, and affordable, way to give your home a boost.  Though if you google “bathroom trends for 2023” you may be overwhelmed by the results, especially when many of those results seem to contradict each other.

Is the trend lighter color tones, natural tones, or bold expressive tones? Even within the same article you may be told that blue is the color of 2023… no, green… no, peach.

The overriding theme of the 2023 trends is LUXURY.  Creating a bathroom space that feels more spa-like and unique seems to be the top trend. Here are a few items that we’ve found to include on your wish list…

Bidets

Whether you buy a new toilet with an integrated bidet or buy an external add-on, it seems many people are finally embracing this European idea.

It’s unclear why bidets are trending though the pandemic does seem to correlate with their rise.  Whether people wanted (or had to) cut back on their toilet paper use, or were looking for ways to improve their hygiene and reduce the spread of germs, it seems people looked to the bidet as a way to achieve their goals.

HERE is a list of some of the best bidets on the market.

Natural Materials

Woods for the floor, vanity, and other furniture are used to create a more organic and relaxing environment.

Whether it’s in the shower or on the walls more tile seems to be the thing to do as well.

In smaller bathrooms or half-baths, bold eye-popping tile patterns and textured tiles are making a comeback and even replacing wallpaper and paint.  They can be used to add a pop of color and create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

In larger bathrooms floor to ceiling marble surrounds in the shower can help brighten the space and give a spa-like feel.

These natural materials can bring the outdoors in and create a sense of tranquility.

Showers

In keeping with the tile trend, if you have the room then enlarge the shower area to be more of a wet room, or install a steam shower.

And, minimalism is always a popular bathroom design.  Clean lines such as seamless, frameless glass walls/doors help create a clutter-free and relaxing environment.

Other Luxury Trends

Unique, freestanding tubs are becoming more popular as homeowners look for ways to make their bathrooms feel like a spa. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and materials and can be a beautiful focal point in the room.

Keep the uniqueness trend with antique fixtures or the new style of open spout faucets.

Backlit mirrors help keep the minimalist feel, while irregularly shaped mirrors can add some fun and make it more your own.

Ditch the standard bath mats and add small colorful area rugs

And more people are adding smart technology such as heated floors, heated towel racks and drawers, voice activated mirrors, motion sensing faucets.  These high-tech features can make the bathroom more convenient and efficient, while also adding a touch of luxury.

Whether you’re looking to make a statement or create a relaxing retreat, there’s a trend for everyone. Consider incorporating some of these elements into your Fayetteville home bath for a stylish and functional space.
